So, the other day I'm getting ready for work, sitting down and putting on my shoes. My son is watching Monster House for roughly the 700th time. I look over at Emma and see that she's got the TiVo remote and is holding it backward (IR transmitter toward her tummy) and pushing the buttons. I figure she needs a reminder how to use the thing so I ask her what she's doing...
"I'm trying to control myself."
Damn, that made me laugh.
Then it made me think. Wouldn't that be cool? Not in some trite Adam Sandler way, but to have a remote that would really control your *self*.
If you had one button that would stop your "self" from doing something, what would it be? If you had one button that would make your "self" do somthing what would it be?
Here's what mine would do:
1) First button would say "Uh, don't eat that." and I would use it when passing the vending machine or Dunkin Donuts.
2) The second button would say, "Break Your Routine". See, I'm a wicked creature of habit, prone to nice comfy cushy ruts. I would, quite counter-intuitively of course, make it apart of my routine to push it at least once a week.
I also wish I had one for my kids with two buttons:
1) First button says "Stop the Noise". Stop the noise. Please, God. Good Ol' Mute.
2) Second button says "Share". It would also lessen the need to push the first button
Anyway, what buttons would your remote have? What buttons would you use on someone else?
No alarms and no surprises, please.
